With a little research, here are some of the HTML5 game engines currently available. Some are free/open source and others you gotta pay for.

Aves HTML5 Game Engine - Looks like this has recently been acquired by the evil empire Zynga. As of this writing the site it was on is down. So, who knows what’s up with that. Perhaps they are keeping it all to themselves so nobody else can make cool games?

Processing.js - HTML5 game engine can also be used for data visualization, interactive animations, graphs and more without plugins.

Akihabara -A set of libraries, tools and presets to make retro style, pixelated 8 and 16 bit era video games.

Effect Game Engine - Cool HTML5 game engine that allows you to create browser based games directly through their web site. This looks like a good place to start for beginners (like me).

Rocket Engine - This looks pretty promising. Built by professional game developers, no plug-ins required and works on multiple platforms, Facebook, etc. Currently you must apply to try out the engine.

Impact HTML5 Game Engine - Looks cool, but will cost ya $99. This can be a very good thing though as support will likely be good. Also appears to work on multiple platforms such as iPhone.

Crafty - Very lightweight javascript game engine. Looks like another good one to learn on.

Flax Game Engine - In development.

Well, that’s all for now. Now you have all the tools you need to build your own multi million dollar game company!

HTML5 Logo Official Site

HTML5 Logo Official Site:
Official site of the new HTML5 logo. T-Shirts for sale, too!

New HTML5 Logo

New HTML5 Logo

HTML5Rocks - Home

HTML5Rocks - Home

A Book Apart, Home

A Book Apart, Home

HTML5

HTML5

Introducing HTML5: Bruce Lawson and Remy Sharp

Introducing HTML5: Bruce Lawson and Remy Sharp

HTML5 Doctor, helping you implement HTML5 today

HTML5 Doctor, helping you implement HTML5 today

HTML5 Live: Course Content Overview (via SitePoint)

HTML5 Live: Course Content Overview
